Emergency Services
Where we cover…
Currently licensed in Pennsylvania only, Dr. Farabee is eagerly awaiting her West Virginia licensure to be accepted to help horses in underserved areas.
We are regretfully currently not servicing the Eastern Ohio area at this time.
Who we cover…
Alongside Performance Equine, Tanglewood is currently working to help all types of equines, including racehorses, show horses, pleasure horses, and pastured horses (and the occasional donkey!)
Please see our files regarding how a veterinarian determines need (aka triage aka what makes an
emergency a “true emergency”).
What we do to help
Tanglewood is committed to providing haul-in services 24/7, and farm call services are available Thursday - Friday - Saturdays from 4pm to 12 am. While we recognize the need for 24/7 coverage in our area, these limited hours allow us to maintain our current clientele’s needs while allowing a sustainable work/life balance for our employees.
We provide emergency services, referral, or euthanasia. Upon completion of service, the veterinarian on-call will contact your primary veterinarian to ensure continuity of care for your horse. Medications, bandage materials, and other supplies will be provided by your primary veterinarian.
Isolation / Quarantine Boarding
Two large 14 x 17 stalls are available at a rate of $550 for a standard 21-day quarantine period.
Amenities included in isolation board include:
24/7 hay, 2 grain meals per day, and access to a small paddock within sight, but not contact, with other horses. A large clear window between the isolation barn and the main barn allows isolated horses to watch the activity of the main barn and protects occupants on both sides from potential spread.
