Offering short-term and long-term rehabilitation

We’ve all heard the phrase, “It’s all fun and games until somebody ends up on stall rest.”

Our other favorite quote is “Horses are one flimsy stomach on four flimsy legs, choosing homicide or suicide every day.”

Horses are prey animals, meaning that their senses of fight or usually flight are always primed and ready to go. Unfortunately sometimes that means injuries occur. Additionally, horses have a lot of “heart” and will push themselves beyond their limits to please their rider or trainer and injuries can happen during performance. We’re here to correct that.

We offer up a unique variety of rehab modalities, including stall rest (9 x 13 or 9 x 26 available), outdoor turnout in small, medium, or large lots, dry lots, flat land, hilly terrain, or herd integration. Bandage applications or medications can be administered as needed. As a veterinarian herself, Dr. Farabee understands that rest and controlled exercise are integral for rapid healing. We want your athlete back to pre-injury performance as much as you do!
